High-end CX racing bike with full carbon frame/fork and SRAM Force transmission
“Building on our heritage of innovation and craftsmanship, we have carefully tailored component specs to meet the individual needs of our riders across all disciplines”
energie vr
New for 2013 Vitus introduce the Energie Cyclo-cross range.
Cyclo-cross was once the sole preserve of hardened racers who wanted to maintain the competitive edge throughout the winter months but in recent years the sport has exploded into the mainstream with a full calendar of events in the UK and across Europe.
Brought to you exclusively by Chainreactioncycles.com, the new Energie VR is our high-end full carbon cyclo-cross race bike, built to bring you from start line to podium through the toughest courses on the competitive CX scene.
A high-performance and unapologetically race-oriented steed, the increased strength and tyre clearance of the Energie VR however make it ideal for long winter training rides or off-piste adventures through back roads or forest parks. When you take into consideration that numerous Pro Tour teams use cyclo-cross bikes during the early season classics races you can really appreciate the potential and diversity that this bike can offer!.
High-modulus Torayca® T700 HM-UD-3K carbon frame and fork
Our cyclo-cross specific frameset features a high-Modulus Torayca® T700 HM-UD-3K carbon construction for superior strength to weight ratio, with increased tyre and mud clearance for high volume cyclo-cross tyres. Cable routing has been specifically designed to prevent ingress of mud and water and to increase comfort when shouldering the bike during races. The same high-modulus Torayca® T700 HM-UD-3K carbon has been used in the fork, which features a tapered carbon steerer and beefed-up blades for precise tracking and steering even in the toughest of race conditions.
SRAM Force groupset
SRAM Force shifters and derailleurs are renowned for positive and precise gear selections time after time. SRAM’s 1.1 actuation ratio reduces the chance of sloppy gear changes in adverse and muddy conditions.
The drivetrain features a cyclo-cross friendly gear ratio with the compact Force 46t x 36t chainset and 11t-26t cassette offering a wide enough gear range to get you through the muddiest races or over the steepest ascents on weekend training rides.
Meanwhile Avid Shorty 6 cantilever brakes provide excellent stopping power and modulation, with additional mud clearance to cope with tough conditions on or off the race course.
Quality FSA finishing kit and Easton Aero wheelset
Easton wheelset and FSA finishing kit
FSA alloy bars, stem and seatpost are at the heart of a strong but lightweight components package built for the rigours of competitive cyclo-cross. Easton EA50 Aero wheels with bladed spokes offer strength and stability with a proven track record for reliability, while Schwalbe CX Pro high-volume tyres feature an aggressive tread pattern that is suited to wet and muddy conditions - perfect for UK and European cyclo-cross racing.
Your weapon of choice for the winter months, the Energie VR thrives on the muddiest battlefields the cyclo-cross season has to offer.
